In the second half of 20th century, we cannot explain the interrelationship between globalization and education without giving due consideration on the thoughts of Toffler Alvin and McLuhan. He theorized the concept of Global village where he started that world has come so closer due to technological advancement that you are able to know the happenings in any corner of the world within a fraction of second. ‘Alwin Toffler put forward the concept of ‘sociology of future’ through his books Future shock, the world wave, power shift and learning for tomorrow. According to Toffler in the world sociology there has been two major milestone and the third reformers about to happen. First milestone was due to research in the field of agriculture, second due to industrialization and third is going to be because of scientific and technological advancement.

In 1995 prof. Arthur Danker proposed the draft of GATT through the world trade organization and this drunken agreement initialized the process of globalization. According to this agreement every member country can have the opportunity to offer their services in the service sector. Education being one of such sector. V.S Pandey in his book ‘Education and Globalization’ thrown more light on the effect of new financial policy on the field of education. In his book Globalization has been described as a widening, deepening, and speeding up of world-wide interconnectedness in all aspects of contemporary social life from the cultural to the criminal, the financial to the spiritual”. Education is an origin and center which not only promotes national development but also fulfil international needs. So we can conclude that education and globalization are the two sides of the same coin.

Many old concepts are changing due to globalization. Earlier education was service and now it has changed to a commodity. Student is changed from a learner to a consumer. So now a new idea is pay and learn. Today education does not only mean getting a degree but it is believed that education should empower national development of process and should be useful to the social life. Due to globalization government, universities and other educational institutions are facing many challenges. Quality in education is one of it.

Universities and colleges should strive to inculcate the habit of using high end technology, foster creativity, business mindedness, research aptitude order to get their participation in the national Development.  In today’s world, due to changing political scenario different countries are coming together on an international platform to discuss about the common problem. The feeling that the whole world and the people living in different countries are one is coming up. To create this one society, all the components like political, social, financial and cultural are expanding and it is called globalization.
